Week 2! Already?! Well, this update will be quick. Am I the only one that procrastinates when they are feeling overwhelmed? No, just me? Well, let me explain. In addition to the One Room Challenge we are hosting friends at our house for Easter and our yard was a complete hot mess. Like dangerous mess. So, I’ve been rushing to make the backyard acceptable and maybe even photographable. Add that to One Room Challenge planning; my 9-5, which is really busy; mom-life, it is baseball season, so I’m often single-parenting the littles, while Chris handles baseball duties, which sometimes means out of town weekend tournaments; and also trying to wrap up the back hallway project, where I ran out of trim and wallpaper. I’ve been overwhelmed and doing a bit of head-burying.
I did get a small amount of work done. I primed the drywall with a tinted primer, I got as close of a match as I could to the base color in the wallpaper. My thinking was to cover my bases if any wall board peeks through the seams when I hang the wallpaper. Next I need to apply the clear wallpaper primer. I also ordered the washer and dryer, finalized the cabinetry plan and costs, ordered a larger version of the light fixture, and received the door trim. Pulling the trigger on the washer and dryer was a big metal win, I was struggling because of the price, so I just kept putting it off.

Up next, I need to list my current washer and dryer on Facebook Marketplace and hope that they sell, but not too quickly so we are out of a washer and dryer for too long. Our cabinetry should arrive next weekend or so. I’ve also scheduled the laundry tower to arrive then as well. Once they are in place, then I can install the paneling and everything else, at least that is what I’ve been telling myself.
To-do (in no particular order):
Over the next 8 weeks I must complete the following:
- Order the wash tower (done)
- Prime raw drywall (done)
- Order hinges (done)
- Clear out the clutter
- Sell old washer and dryer

- Install paneling
- Add Wallpaper primer

Thank you! I might be overloading my plate a bit, but it helps push things to the finish line!
